Mediation is conflict or dispute resolution procedure envisaging a process of negotiation of the parties with involvement of one or several mediators. Mediation is characterized by a clear structure and flexibility of the process, focus on search for mutually beneficial solutions that would take into account interests of all sides. It can be instrumental for handling many types of conflicts, especially those ones where future relations matter and risks of reputational losses are high, notably family, commercial and employment conflicts. Mediation can be used regardless of whether the case is in the formal court review or not.
